MY STUDENT, CALIFORNIA COLLEGE TOUR BUS ACCIDENT VICTIM NEEDS HELP WITH CLOTHES, PROM, AND COLLEGE COSTS
I know I'm always asking for something for my students, but...
Many of you know about the horrific college bus trip in northern California two weeks ago. Well, one of my students, a senior named Jackie, survived the wreck. (Sadly, she mentioned that she is having "survivor guilt.") She is beginning to receive aide and counseling, but I want to do something more personal.
Yesterday, she mentioned that all of her clothes were burned in the accident. I asked, "All the clothes you brought with you?" And she said they were one and the same. I'm starting a collection here at school and Jackie said that she likes Target clothes. So far we've raised $100.
If you'd like to help, please message me. No kid deserves this especially when they are trying to better their lives. At least we can help her have some clothes. FYI, she still intends to attend Humbodlt State in the fall.
(On a side note: she turned down free prom clothes from the Princess Project to go on this trip so maybe we can fancy her up for prom, too).
