Haiti Medical Mission Trip

Hi! We have decided to use our nursing skills to serve on a medical mission to Haiti in association with Global Vision Citadelle Ministries and Issaquah Christian Church.  The mission is from January 9th to the 19th, 2015.  We will be working with a team of other medical professionals and volunteers in remote underserved areas providing medical clinics.  

This mission will be an ambitious one, treating anywhere from 150-300 people at each of 6 different clinics, all in 10 days.  These areas face the challenge of inaccessibility to hospitals, lack of ongoing access to medications, lack of follow up care and no lab or diagnostic testing.  Although we will be limited to very basic healthcare, our hope is to improve quality of life, relieve suffering and potentially save lives. 

To be a part of the mission we are responsible for approximately $2600 per person in expenses.  These costs include:  flights, food, bottled water, immunizations, lodging, rental vehicles, translators, medical supplies and medications.  

We are reaching out to our friends and family in hopes of raising the money to go on this trip.  It is something we both feel we are called to do and appreciate all the love and support we have received up to this point.  Using our education and experience to help those with little or no access to healthcare will be so rewarding.
