An awful month--After leaving a job where I was being treated awfully by an alcoholic boss, I was overlooked for a position I was assured to get.
One week later, the engine in my car seized up and left me stranded. Rather than spend 3k fixing a car not worth half that, I decided to look for another car. Weeks go by without me being able to drive and service clients (I own a window cleaning business part time).
Cut to tonight.
I just got robbed of the last dollar I had to my name. This is what it took to ask for help. My loving friend Yanina helped me out and offered to drive me 2 hours to drive to Virginia to buy a car. We traveled there and I ended up not buying the car due to it feeling like the transmission was going to go out.
Depressed and defeated, I decided to check on Facebook to look for a car under $1000 that would just get me from A to B. My window cleaning business necessitates me driving. I created it from the ground up and I stand to lose all my clients if I can't drive a working car.
I found a Toyota Corolla for $800. It was all the way in Reading, PA, but the love of my life Yanina again insisted on driving me FOUR more hours to meet up with a man named Jose to test drive the vehicle.
It was a beater, to be sure. But I took it around the block a few times, looked under the hood, listened to the engine etc. I gave him the money (some of which I borrowed from Yanina) and signed the title. it all seemed fine.
Until I drove away.
After not even 10 miles, I heard awful noises under the hood and my car started overheating. I tried to call the guy back but he didn't answer my calls. He also blocked me on Facebook, so I can't even get any more information about him.
PLEASE help us get the money back that was robbed from us. I never ask for help from anyone, but I'm absolutely penniless right now and am in DIRE need of transportation so I can service clients so I can pay my rent which is due next week.
We're currently in the middle of nowhere on the side of the road in Pennsylvania awaiting a tow truck that neither of us can afford, to bring a car in obvious need of an engine back to Maryland, 80 miles away.
