Don Benner is a 90 year old missionary in the tiny country of El Salvador. In 1975 he left behind a comfortable life as a wealthy businessman in Denver, Colorado to follow the Lord's will for his life. To minister to the people in the civil war torn country of El Salvador.
Thirty-nine years later and thousands of touched lives later the ministry that Don and the Lord founded together is a children's home for orphaned and abandoned children, a state of the art medical clinic in an impoverished community, a church and Christian school in the same community along with a Christian book distribution and seven small shops with Christian literature and Bibles.
Don was hospitalized in March for a cancerous tumor in his intestines and he has since been stricken with pneumonia. His medical expenses are staggering and being a 90 year old missionary in a foreign third world country he has no medical insurance coverage and really no income. Don's family have been doing their best to keep up with payments to the hospital but the hospital is not willing to provide a line of credit. It has been "Pay as you go" all the way. Credit cards are now maxed out and bank accounts emptied. Don has given the last forty years of his life to help others and serve the Lord, THANK YOU for helping Don!
