My goal with these new rotors is to provide four instruments: a compensating double horn, a full double horn, a Bb rotary trumpet, and a C rotary trumpet.
My reason behind the compensating double is to make the (French) horn much more accessible to younger players. They won't need to start on a single F or single Bb.
I plan on offering all these instruments at extremely competitive prices that will more resemble those made in a factory rather than custom, hand crafted instruments.
The start up costs for musical instrument building is high - and this goal only represents about a third of what I will end up spending to get my idea off the ground, between materials, research & development, and tools.
I've spent about a year and a half already on this project - and I'm working with an extremely talented machinist to help me finish my drawings. I am starting to get to the point where I need help financially to get the prototype to the next step.
The really exciting thing is if you become a Gold Level supporter, you will be added to the list of "test drivers" for when I finish the prototype. Which will involve me sending the instrument to you to try and give feedback on.
If you are still reading this and believe in me as much as I believe in this project I hope you consider donating to my cause. Thank you.
