Helping in Zambia

My daughters and I are spending the month of July volunteering in the Mukuni Village in Zambia with the many orphans of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. In Zambia, each child has to pay school exam fees, buy uniforms, and shoes. For one year of education it costs approximately $180. Ryann and I will be working in the school, and Sammi will be volunteering in the health clinic. Besides these duties, we hope to take part in building a community house for orphans. 1. Sponsor an orphan – $180 per year or $16 per month
2. Donate five malaria testing kits $8
3. Donate four mosquito nets $32
4. Donate a blanket $25
5. Donate a bag a maize $16
6. Donate a wheelchair to transport a disabled child to school for $300
7. Donate a bicycle for a child living a long distance from school $120
8. Donate a football, netball, volleyball with HIV awareness logo $16
9. Build a home for a whole family for $650
10. Build a pit-latrine toilet for $1000
11. Fund a bore hole for a entire community for $8300
12. Sponsor a feeding program from $1600 – $4200 per annum
