Please Help Lil, our Beautiful Greyhound

Lil is at Dick White Vets in Newmarket with a deep vein infection, which has led to vasculitis and is possibly spreading around his body. The next 24 - 48 hours are crucial as he is wired to lots of iv drips and meds and we are hoping the infection has not spread to other body parts, or organs. We have insurance for Lil, We have now , after nearly 4 weeks of treatment reached our insurance limit and have been told that Lil will have to stay in hospital for a while longer, as he is not out of danger yet.  If the infection spreads because it does not respond to the treatment, they will try another group of meds, but  he may well die if they cannot get this under control.  His leg is still very swollen and they are worried he may not be responding to the antibiotics.  The nurse is taking him out for a wee by using a leg sling !!! Poor boy.

We are proud people , but also realise that sometimes in life we all need a help and we are asking for that now. My partner has a life limiting condition, which means she is unable to work , so I am the sole earner and resources are stretching thin.

 

If you feel you are able to help we would so appreciate it, but if you cant afford it please do not as we all need to put ourselves first. Any contribution would be very appreciated to get our boy home.

 

Lil, is an ex racer, called Notting Hill Lill, he was a champ in his day and now he is in retirement and we want to give him the best retirement we can. He is 8 years old and we got him from The Greyhound Trust when he was 4. He is a very important member of our family and has a wonderful character.

We would also like to say that any excess money through  donations,  should there be any , will be donated directly to the Greyhound Trust at Clarks Farm , Maldon, Essex.
