Sea Perch National & DI Global Trips

St. Mary's Bryantown school is proud that our Sea Perch teams won again this year at the local level and will be competing at the National Competition in Massachusetts and that our Destination Imagination team who won 1st place at the State level again this year will be heading to the Global Competition in Knoxville, Tennessee.  The winning teams are very exited to represent our school, but we are in need of donations to cover registration and travel costs for these two trips. Any amount is greatly appreciated.Sea Perch is part of the Navy STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) program offered to students as an after school club. Students were able to use a variety tools as they had to construct their robots to specific dimensions, assemble propeller motors, and wire their mother boards for their remote controls. In addition, students learned engineering concepts, tool safety, problem solving, and teamwork.  The Destination Imagination (DI) program is challenge-based and teaches the creative process from imagination to innovation. The goal is to help students learn to be creative in every aspect of their lives.  The global final is the world's largest celebration of creativity.
