Hello friends!

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your support! I know the only way to receive help is by asking for help, which is why I’m here. As most of you know from running into me everywhere, I have been taking care of my parents these past four years while we take on the challenge of my dad dealing with end-stage kidney failure. It has been a wild ride, and I am grateful for every minute we have with him. But due to my dad’s health, he hasn’t driven in 4 years, and my mother, unfortunately, has never driven. We have support from Tri-Valley Transit for all my dad's appointments and medical needs, as well as Bonni’s Rideshare service that steps in to transport my mom to work when I’m not available. For all other services and help, my family relies on me to get them where they need to go.

Due to the cold temperatures this winter and the 170,000 miles put on my car from the last 4 years, the engine has let go, leaving us with no vehicle.

As most of you know, being without a car in Vermont is like quicksand. For someone like me, it’s very hard to ask for help, and I know I would start to ignore my own needs to make sure my family was taken care of, which is a slippery slope into depression.

My goal is to raise $1,800 to be used toward the down payment, tax, title, and registration of a new but used vehicle for us so that our monthly payments are low and we’re back on the road as soon as possible.

I’ve already had several people reach out asking how they can help and even offered to lend us their vehicle for the time being, which has been a huge relief. It’s hard for me to express appreciation when I have little to offer in return, but for anyone that donates, I would be happy to give back to you in the best way I know how, through homemade food!
