East Village - Alphabet City new venue

I want to give you a little more information about my experience and my idea so you can feel you are doing the right thing by investing your money in my project,

As we are beginning to see the end of this pandemic, and after losing so many good cafes, bars, stores and other local businesses this year, now is the time to get together to rebuild this uniquely beautiful neighborhood and keep it as local as possible. If I try to understand what makes the East Village so magical it’s the variety within the community and the interconnection of residents and businesses. These are the things that make it such a vibrant place to live in, hang out in and visit. In the past few years we have seen more and more big players in our fields, and while we can’t fight them, we CAN keep our surviving local spots alive. By supporting them and supporting new small businesses that will try to open when things go back to normal, we can fill up all the spaces that are standing vacant now, and revive our community.

I have over 20 years of experience in hospitality. Starting as a dishwasher when I was a teenager, I have been a barista, server , bartender, floor and bar manager as well as a  GM and consultant for new restaurants. I have specialized in growing community-oriented places and I am very good at creating connections between people for personal and/or business links. I always say that I love my industry and feel lucky to be the guy that can make people happy every day. This is the attitude I carry with me wherever I go, and even more so into this new venture. I am more motivated than ever before, and cannot wait to use the tools and connections I have made along my career to create my very own business, and in return benefit the neighborhood in which it will grow. I have many ideas for how a local business can be involved in collaborations that support the community, the artists in the neighborhood and more.

My idea for a place is simple and very common in beach towns around the Mediterranean. I want to try and bring some of that warmth into the streets of the East Village. The vision is for a medium to large space with a living-room vibe that functions all day long, serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and an after-hours menu with a focus on simple, healthy and local food, good coffee and craft beverages along with a full bar. The space will host live music performances and art. My focus will be on curating  an experience that is both high-quality and affordable in a place that is more than just a restaurant or cafe. Between the cozy atmosphere and  friendly recurring staff that you will get to know, you will always feel like you are home.

I believe in this adventure  and in myself with all my heart. I know that the timing is right, that the future is bright, and I am ready to work hard to create something really good here.

If you live in the East Village, have lived here, come to grab brunch or a drink at night, if your friends or family members live here or if you ever just visited from somewhere else but liked it - please  consider support my project as much as you can afford so we can keep the village uniqueness and magic going on.
