My Grand Design

My mantra is; to be successful, I need a wishbone, a backbone and a funny bone!

Hello, my name is Hannah (change of name), and I'm a survivor of domestic violence and technically homeless at the moment.

As it happened, COVID was the kickstart I needed. I've learnt so much about myself and appreciated the kindness of others.

Throughout the lockdown, despite relocating and living on the street, then a hostel, then a hotel, I threw myself volunteering for two worthy charities, which I feel very privileged, and have been welcomed into their community.

The most stubborn obstacle has been to gain a business account.  Now that I have I can start my new business venture.

In simple terms, I am fundraising for a barge on which I'll run during the week as a small Retreat and a boutique b&b at weekends.

The Retreat is for anyone struggling with life events such as grief, stress at work, family issues, relationships, and illness.  

I'll provide a warm welcome, safe and quiet environment, and a listening ear, so that people can recoup.

We've all wanted timeout at points in our lives, but not necessarily be alone. 

Taking a total break, away from work pressures, family, the internet and substances can be beneficial.  Allow the body and mind to recoup, and reflect, but not dwell. Regain perspective, surprise yourself with new ideas on how you want to mould your future. 

I'm starting from nothing.  There have been delays, but in that time, I have repaired, contributed to my community, paid off all my debts, paid the deposit on the barge, and started saving. All without any form of government help.  I'm happy to graft, but I also know when to swallow my pride and ask for help. 

To make it harder, I'm trying not to use social media due to my circumstances with my ex.  Welcome to pass my details on to friends, but not via social media platforms, so it might put me at risk, thank you.

Shortly, I will be looking for trades and professionals for when I get to fit out phase, and/or use of trade accounts to make my budget go further.
