Lamar is a Father, Son, Technical Sergeant/E-6 in the United States Air Force as well a great friend. He has deployed to Baghdad, Iraq and Kabul Afghanistan
In mid September, Lamar noticed some changes with his body. He was fatigued, in pain and notice a lump in his neck. After several test Lamar was initially diagnosed with stage 4 Non small cell carcinoma (lung cancer) It was later discovered that this cancer stemmed from a rare kidney cancer, Medullary Kidney Cancer, an extremely rare and aggressive form of Cancer that is most commonly found in African American Males with the sickle cell trait. There are only a few hundred cases per year.
The cancer has metastasized, which means it has spread throughout his body - Stomach, Liver, and Lungs he is scheduled this week to have a Brain MRI to ensure the cancer has not spread there otherwise he may require radiation along with brain surgery.
As you can imagine, this is not at all an easy time…
We are asking family and friends to donate to help Lamar during this difficult time.
Proceeds will go towards:
- Transportation to and from treatment
(chemotherapy, radiation, Blood Labs)
- Dietary specific foods Recommended by the nutritionist as well as any
unexpected expenses he may encounter.
We hope to have our goal met as soon as possible (before the year ends or early 2020) so Lamar has as little to worry about as possible during his battle. As of October 1st, it is unknown how this battle is going to turn out but we must stay optimistic for
Lamar.
