Let's teach free ESL in Seoul!

Goal: The goal is to start a four-week English language summer camp (July-August) in 2014, where students can sustain and practice the English they have learned during their first semester of school (March to July). Students will study English literature, and engage in a variety of interactive activities, from playing soccer to Skyping with American students to gain fluency in English
Inspiration:
In the summer of 2013 I had the privilege of teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) classes to disadvantaged middle school students in Seoul, South Korea. Their passion for learning inspired me to start a four week English Language summer camp to promote profiency and confidence in their English skills.
Why it matters:
While my students are intelligent because they cannot afford private language lessons, they are unable to reach a level of proficiency in English. This is detrimental to their future especially in a country where English is compulsory to enter university and/or to get a stable job. The goal of the camp is to teach students English conversation skills and give them the confidence to pursue their dreams without allowing their social and economic circumstances to define them.
Project:
Program Services:
The camp will offer the following services:
"¢ English Conversation Classes
"¢ Mentorship with regards to English language skills and possible career development.
"¢ Vocational training: Based on students' interests, field experts will be brought in to hold workshops.
"¢ Meals: The program will provide one meal a day to each class.
Structure of the Camp:
"¢ Each class meets 5 days a week for 2-3 hours.
"¢ Provides Lunch or Dinner
"¢ 2 classes of 10 students that will meet at different times of the day
"¢ 1 ESL Certified Teacher
"¢ 2 Volunteers ( Korean and English Language Fluency Preferred)
