Lombok Indonesia Earthquake

Hi there. I'm updating this campaign as it's been a while since I've been able to access the funds raised and to distribute accordingly.
For those who have donated or are still planning to donate and who don't know me. My name is Johannes Laan (Hannes to my friends) and I worked as a Scuba Diving instructor for nearly three years in the beautiful Gili Islands a few miles East of Lombok and about an 2 hours on a fast boat from Bali.
In the first few weeks of August several devastating Earthquakes hit northern Lombok and destroyed thousands of homes including the houses of every single one of my Indonesian colleagues at my work place Big Bubble Dive on Gili Trawangan. The initial impact was incredibly destructive and there was a huge mobilisation from the local and expat communities to deliver emergency relief to those affected, providing essentials such as food, water, temporary shelter materials, fuel, baby formula and nappies etc. Every single person in the area knows someone who's lives have become completely disrupted. Many businesses on the islands have started to reopen but many are still receiving little or no income due to their dive shop or other business still being closed.
At the time of the initial disaster, this fund and others received a quick influx of kind donations from around the world. I was able to distribute about a third of the money raised here and have not yet distributed the rest. This is because of Gofundme's safeguarding measures to make sure that those raising money are accountable for where the money is going.
I spoke to my colleague, Erie who was able to give each of the Big Bubble staff 1million IDR (about $65 US) which is a considerable amount for the average worker but she asked not to send small amounts of money but to wait until more was raised. At the time it was very difficult for her to go to the bank as their were such long queues and it took a whole day to do so.
With the next instalment I will distribute directly to my ex-manager Anna Walker who is still working with our staff and others at rebuilding and repairing their business and homes. Anna has a UK bank account so it is easier for me to send the money to her and for her to withdraw from her local Indonesian bank. I recently did a pub quiz at my place of work The Cheese & Grain in Frome, Somerset where we raised £84 which I will also add to the fund pot.
