F*CK CANCER
Hey everyone. The girl who is the face of this campaign (and what a babely face it is) is my best friend Emily "Jokes" Parise. In March 2014 she was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer at just FRESHLY 29 years old. GARBAGE!
Emily has a gift that she carries around with her every day. Her smile, humor, and tender heart bring joy to every person she comes in contact with. Her positive attitude during this time is something to be admired. I have had the duty of "chemo buddy" a few times now and after meeting a woman named Chris, she was informed by a nurse that this was the first time she had seen her laugh and have a good out look on things. She never wants someone she's around to feel down or be sad. That's the kind of person Emily is. You can't help but feel good when you're around her and if you aren't laughing, there is something seriously wrong with you. It's hard to know what to do to help in situations like this, but if we all come together and donate what we can spare, maybe we can help lift one stress off of Emily and Bobby. (Side note: some of this money can also go to a sa-weet wig for Em to parade around. Those suckers are expensive.)
Did I mention they have an adorable little squirt named Josie who is almost 3? Because they do, and she does a great rendition of Katy Perry's Roar. So there's that.
It's hard to see the energy drain out of my effervescent friend after every chemo treatment. It's hard to feel helpless, but it's time we all rally around the team captain and make this happen!
