A heart for Steve Watt

Steven Watt lives in Spring Lake, Michigan. Years ago Steve suffered a massive heart attack. At that time Doctors gave us little hope for recovery. After emergency open heart surgery and almost 2 months of hospital stay,Steve defied all odds and came home to us. As the years have gone by his heart function has worsened and he is now in dire need of a heart transplant. Now at age the young age of 61, he has been listed for transplant in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is unable to work at this time and receives disability. As medical costs increase the sicker he gets, the bills pile up. He also travels to Grand Rapids and Ann Arbor frequently to see the cardiologists and transplant doctors which requires a lot of gas money. Medications are increasingly expensive and the surgery is not completely covered. He will have to pay 20% of all surgical fees out of pocket. I ask that in his time of need that we all show him how much he means to us and help him raise these funds for medical expenses. I can't begin to explain what my dad means to me. He is my hero. He has been my rock my whole life. He is strong, kind, funny and intelligent. The whole neighborhood called him dad when we were growing up, now their kids call him grandpa. He is an amazing grandfather to my three daughters and a wonderful husband of over 30 years to my mother. My mother(his wife) has debilitating multiple sclerosis and is unable to walk much. He aids in her care as much as possible. Their love is a shining example of true love. We need him here with us. I want this time to be as stress free for him as possible. I appreciate any little bit of help. Every penny counts.
