Our story:

My husband and I married on May 3, 2003 after dating for 2 years. We both wanted kids so we started right away. In June of 2004 we were overjoyed becuase we were pregnant. Our joy was short lived as I miscarried only 5 weeks into our pregnancy. We were devasted and full of questions that to this day, have not been answered. Once I was feeling up to trying again, we continued on our journey. We tried for another 9 months without success so we started going to the The Johns Hopkins Hospital Infertility Center for help. With the help of the medical team, our long journey finally began. Through work-up I was diagnosed with PCOS or Polysitic Ovary Syndrome. This condition presents a hormonal imbalance in the body and is one of the most over looked causes of infertiltiy. When you have this condition, you don't ovulate normally and of course you need to ovulate to become pregnant. My doctor began to prescribe Clomid to induce ovulation. After 3 rounds, we were estatic as once again..we were pregnant!!!! For all the joy, sorrow would follow. I miscarried again after 6 1/2 weeks. Again we kept trying but we had no success. By 2006 I decided I needed a break and so did my body. During this time I tried to lose weight, research my condition and also look at other alternatives in the event of no further success. By 2009, my husband and I both decided that is was time to try again. We retuned to the same clinic for treatment. This time we were introduced to Intrauterine Insemination other known as "IUI". The procedure injects sperm into the womans Utuerine cavity at the time of ovulation. We tried 7 cycles and one finally took. WE WERE PREGNANT!!!! Once again after approx 5 weeks, I would miscarry for the third time. I was an emotional wreck. The doctors had no explaination as to why this kept happening. This made it even more fustrating. I would continue to try but during a sonogram in 2010 it was discovered that I had 3 large fibroids in my uterine cavity. I was devastated. I couldn't continue treatment until I had surgery to remove them. July 2010 I had a Myomectomy to remove the fibroids but complications developed. Two days later I would spend the next 10 days in the hospital due to a wound infection. It was a healing process but I made it through. 2011 was here and I was ready to begin treatment again.I turned back to my doctors at JHH to seek treatment. I was now a canidate for IVF. I was so nervous because I couldn't dream of all the needles I would have to give myself. After much consideration we started treatment. I gave myself 3 needles a day for 15 days straight.I produced 20 eggs ( how crazy is that!!!) during my first cycle. Out of all the eggs, 5 were viable and developing great. Two were inserted back in. After a very grueling 2 week wait, we were pregnant!!! I was so happy but for the forth time, our child would not make it. The egg was developing in my tubes. The pain was horrible. I was taken to the ER as my tube ruptured. There was no saving it and it had to be removed. So now I am an emotional wreck, no baby and no right fallopian tube. I felt as though I was cursed.I felt as though God did not want me to have kids. In 2012, I had the remiaining 3 embroyos  left from my first IVF implanted. I did get a positive pregnancy but I miscarried for the fifth time and it was deemed as a "chemical pregnancy". I went into a dark period in my life. I just couldn't understand why this was happening to me and no one else had answers. Heartbroken was an understatement.

The aftermath:

After all the surgery, infertility medicine, and office visits, we were told that I had exhausted my benefit through my insurance. I was floored as neither myself or my husband has means to pay for infertiltiy treatment on our own. This is why we need your help!!!!!!

Today:

We have now joined the many couples at Shady Grove Fertility Center-Towson for help. With the help of Dr. Ricardo Yazigi, I feel confident that we will be given the desires of our hearts. I am trying to become a canidate for The Shared Risk Program. This will allow me to have 5 IVF cycles for the cost of $20,000. If unsuccessful at the end of 5 attempts, we recevie our investment of $20,000 back. This price doesn't include medicine. Medicine can average $3,000-$6,000 per cycle. In order to start, we must pay the 20k upfront. We need your help family, friends, co-workers, strangers, and faith walkers!!! Please donate today. All money collected will go to all expenses occured. If the program is unsuccessful, the money given back will go towards adoption and or surrogacy. I am happy to answer any questions that you have. On behalf of my husband and myself, thank you so much for any help that you give us. God bless us and most of all you :-) This fundraiser will be in effect until the goal is reached. I am on borrowed time so please don't hesitate and donate today....Thank you so much....Tashea and David H.
