Welcome to The Greatest Little Iceland Festival in the USA!
Iceland Affair began in 2009 as a one day program focusing on the nature, culture, food, and sustainability of our closet European neighbor. I am wildly passionate about this place and when I get a bee in my bonnet about ANYTHING I must share it because I really believe you will love it too. People who know me know that I love sharing. Nothing feels better than the simple act of giving. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine IA to become what it is today, only one of two annual Iceland festivals in the United States. IA is the young, funky, feel good, upstart. It is now held at the Winchester Grange #74 in cozy Winchester Center , Connecticut. Presenters from Iceland and the USA, all experts in their fields, deliver informative programs about art, birdlife, geology, history and more. Delicious Icelandic foods are available to sample..including the best damned hot dogs in the world, cheeses, goat sausages, smoked and dried fish, sensational chocolates and licorice, crackers, cookies, donuts, and everybody's favorite skyr! Bottles of pure refreshing Icelandic water wash it all down or perhaps a cup of ethereal Icelandic coffee! Icelandic farm animals keep families busy. AND HERE IS THE REALLY CRAZY PART: IT IS FREE!!! I only ask for you to donate a little something to help me defray the cost of the day event. In the evening what began as a humble concert in a barn has turned into The Fire & Ice Music Festival at Infinity Hall in Norfolk, Connecticut. You can treat yourself to that! And what a treat this concert is as I have rallied some of the greatest recording artists in Iceland to perform for you! Since Iceland Affair is supported by myself (don't tell my husband) and generous donors..I always wonder if each year will be its last year. The budget for IA this year has soared to $17,500. I am merely a hard working woman with a supersized dream of continuing this beautiful event for years to come. I can no longer do it alone so I am asking for your support. Please climb aboard my magic carpet and become a part of this fantastic grass roots journey which is establishing Iceland Affair both in the USA and in Iceland as the MUST ATTEND festival of the year.
