Hurricane Harvey: Erin Clark & Bean

Erin is yet another victim of loss of all possessions due to the swelling bayous from Hurricane Harvey. Her first floor apartment still remains fully under water as of today, 9/2. The city stated it will be another two to three weeks before she will even be able to see the destruction of everything she knows as home. Her parents and two younger siblings (16 & 13) house also flooded and they have been displaced with another family.

Erin is a student currently studying to obtain her undergraduate degree while working full-time at Michael's to support herself and Bean her Golden Retriever puppy.

We immediately bought Erin a bed and set up a room for her. I told her it was ready for her when she was ready. She selflessly took another two days sleeping in her father's work warehouse on the floor until she could make sure her parents and siblings were settled into their temporary arrangements.

The only things she has left are four outfits, a pair of flip flops, a bag and her purse. Her pup, Bean, is safe and clean living with us as well. These funds will allow Erin to rebuild some portion of normalcy to her life including replacing her laptop, books for school, clothing, furniture, loss of time from work, car payment, toys, food and a bed for Bean, and many other personal effects she will need in order to resume returning to work.

We are the Hernandez Family and Erin is like a daughter to us. We also live in Houston and are so very lucky to have not had damage being in a tiny pocket of unaffected homes. We remain TEXAS STRONG!
