Darien (Dooda) Faust's Transplant

Donation protected
Darien Dooda Faust awaits a double lung and heart transplant. Darien graduated Dover High School in 1997. In 2003, she became ill, and her young adult life was cut short. Her symptoms were shortness of breath and low energy. Her oxygen level had dropped to 70. Boston Mass General hospital diagnosed her with pulmonary hypertension. She had blood clots that caused extensive scarring in both lungs and high pressure in her lungs and heart. Darien has tried and been on numerous medications over the years, has had a medication pump for the last 4 years, and is on constant oxygen. Over the last couple of years, Darien has been battling severe anxiety and depression, in addition to her disease. She's been homebound for the last year because of her increased oxygen needs. Darien is now hoping for a heart and double lung transplant in the near future. The plan is to undergo this critical procedure at Duke University in North Carolina. She and her parents Jim and Roxane will be relocating to the Durham, NC area in the next few months. Darien has been very brave, and she deserves a better quality of life. This is her only hope of getting better. We're grateful for the generosity of Skip & Carolyn, Darien's uncle and aunt, for opening their home to her so that she can begin her physical therapy in preparation for her surgery. Darien's immediate family will be making several trips to NC prior to her surgery. Additionally, her parents will need financial help to relocate and care for their daughter after her surgery. Donations will gratefully be accepted to make this all possible.
