I've been selected to join the summer volunteer staff with an organization in Beijing called New Day Creations. Their work in Beijing consists of a learning center, foster home, and business that makes and sells small gift items in order to help keep their other projects running. http://www.newdaycreations.com/
I'll be leaving on May 23rd (which is less than a month away!) and will be volunteering with them until July 5th this summer. I'm excited to serve their staff and the children and people in Beijing that they are working year-round to help. This opportunity will allow me to serve orphans with special needs as well as get some exposure to physical therapy work, which is essentially what I want to do after college. I'll also be able to use my experience in the communications field to help get the word out about the work they're doing in Beijing!
I'm super excited (and a little bit nervous) about this opportunity and would appreciate your thoughts and prayers as I head literally to the other side of the world.
I also need some financial help getting there! Please consider donating to help me reach my goal of $3,500. This covers the cost of air-fare and the cost to live and eat while I'm there serving the people of Beijing! Any little bit will help! Thanks so much!
