Rick Abalan, of Hartland CT, a fairly young man of 52 years of age, who recently feel ill, was diagnosed 2 days past, with advanced Stage 4 lung cancer, and he needs your help!
As a young man, Rick fell in love with working with his hands as a carpenter and wood worker. Which lead him into a career building custom cabinetry and eventually custom homes. As many folks know, as a tradesmen, most are over worked and under paid, but stick to their trade for the love and passion to create and express their talents through their work. It is for this reason, being self employed, he has remained uninsured throughout his lifetime. We are hopeful that he may qualify for Obamacare assistance, but know that he will soon be facing extensive medical bills, with no assistance or funds availble.
Over Ricks lifetime he has worked hard to provide for his wife and two daughters, but much like most of Americas hardest of workers, he has not managed to save for the day when he would most need it, That day is today! With a wife, 2 daughers, and a granddaughter, (not to mention a large extended family), he is determined to live as long as possible, and is eager to start treatment. In addition, Rick's oldest daughter is getting married in October of this year, 2014, and he is determined to walk his little girl down the aisle.
We as a family have decided to reach out and ask for your help, which for our family is not easy. We have too much pride in helping others. Over the years we have always been the folks to help and care for people less fortunate, or who just need a helping hand to find there way. This time it is us who need the help, we have faith in the goodness of people, much like us who are willing to step forward and lend that helping hand when we need it the most! We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your support and hope that anything you may be able to contribute to help Rick in his struggle with lung cancer you will.
