The past 3 years of my life as a single Mom have included working full time and going to school part time to get my teaching certificate. Last fall I started going to school full time so I could finish up and move on to the next chapter in my life with my daughter.
Monday everything changed.
That afternoon I received an invasive breast cancer diagnosis. My treatment plan includes 12 months of chemo and a mastectomy with several weeks of radiation. I am sad and in shock. I can see the tumors growing and it is terrifying. But I am thankful to have my family, boyfriend, friends, church, and my God, in whom I put my complete trust. I hope to share my story of hope on this site, not only as part of my own healing, but as an encouragement to all who may visit it.
Today I need prayer for wisdom in choosing my team of doctors, the best treatment plan, and to be able to finish my semester. I have to start treatment right away and I am finishing finals and my mind is entirely distracted. I have school work to complete and I need grace from my professors. I need funds to pay for what is not covered by my insurance. Finally, I need prayer for my precious 9 year old daughter Tiera who I told about this last Thursday.
Psalm 27:13 I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. I believe.
