Vehicle Accident Relief

I am a young man who was released into this world right before the pandemic struck. I am a detailer by trade and by hobby, as well as an aspiring mechanic. I am raised in Arkansas, but I live in Virginia. I have made plans to move back to Arkansas, but as you might be able to tell by this, the plans have fizzled out. I do my best to avoid relying on others, but as a last ditch, here we go.

The blue car is mine- was mine. It was totaled in the accident, unsurprisingly. Here is how this happened:

I was driving down the road to cross an intersection as I had a solid green light to go straight through, I was going about 35 MPH. The gray vehicle is in the oncoming left turn lane with a solid green with a sign saying left turn yield on solid green. As I am about to enter the intersection, about 40 feet away, the gray vehicle decides for whatever reason to go for it, and makes the turn crossing right in front of me, causing me to impact their front right fender at just under 35 MPH.  The impact blew my airbags and turned the car to the right. I suffered only minor injuries and bruising, and it is completely their fault.

I've exhausted my options for getting it replaced, and since I had only gotten the car less than 3 months ago, the bank would not help me out. The car in question was worth $18,000 and insurance paid for $15,900, and GAP will take care of the remainder. I had paid $20,000 for the vehicle, so I have lost a few thousand dollars overall, not taking into account taxes and modifications.

I do not expect the goal of $22,000 to be reached, and to be honest I do  not expect half of that from donations. The goal is what I would need to replace the car with another of the same year, make, model, and trim. That vehicle was my affordable dream car, and I had planned to keep it until the day I die. The morale hit was enormous, more than anything else I had experience. I had planned on moving out of Virginia and into Arkansas only 3 days after the accident happened, and then the accident happened and I had to cancel all of my plans to be with family and friends, so I had already quit my job for the move. I have been looking for a new one, but that has not been fruitful at all, and without any transportation or a job I am left to babysit and rely on others.

This is my last resort, a sign of desperation, and the first and last time I wish to rely on others. I managed to get my last car on my own with no help, but the timing of everything going on is preventing me from settling this out on my own. If I do manage to raise enough for a replacement, or even more, anything leftover will go to World Central Kitchen to help them help other people in need due to COVID-19, hurricanes, wildfires, etc.. I will not close the fund raiser if this becomes the case solely to continue donating to charities.

If you do help me out, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are a good, selfless person. You are great and I wish you safe and fruitful days during these times, and beyond. Even if you do not, thank you for taking the time to listen to what my situation is. Writing this has been a little therapeutic.

Thank you everyone, and have a blessed day.
