Masks for Healthcare Workers
As you all know, we are currently facing the greatest health crisis of our generation. With the number of people infected with COVID-19 increases every day, schools, restaurants, and non-essential businesses (including mine) are forced to close to slow down the spread of the infection. Meanwhile, many hospitals are in the verge of running out of personal protective equipments, which includes N95 masks, a mask that will protect them from getting infected while doing their job. To help with the shortage, many communities had rallied people to make fabric masks at home and donate it to heath care workers, even if it means that they are not getting the full protection. But some protection is better than no protection at all. However, even with all the efforts, and with the magnitude of the situation and the rate that the virus is spreading, I feel that we may still not have enough masks or make masks fast enough. I wanted to start this GoFunMe to gather donations so I could order affordable fabric masks from manufacturers in Vietnam. My goal is to raise $3500, which could easily use to purchase about 8000+ masks. These masks can be donated not only to the heath care workers, but also to those that are currently working in the essential service industry, still providing services to our community. And of course these masks can also be donated to the people that are older, with health issues, or are immunocompromised. If we could keep these groups of people healthy with our masks, I think together, we are on our way to flatten the curves. TOGETHER, WE ARE STRONGER!
