Help Support Elijah

In 2017, my son in law, Eli, began to notice he was having some strange changes in his vision. He went to an eye doctor and was told everything was fine.  Since then, things have only gotten worse.  In January 2020, he was involved in a horrible car accident on 80/94, totaling his vehicle.  At first, he only seemed to have a sore neck from the accident, but as time went by, he began having life altering neurological symptoms…symptoms that have been affecting his daily life.

Eli and Ashley began traveling to Chicago, Valparaiso and Indianapolis desperately searching for answers. After seeing many doctors, and being told he was fine, they finally decided to try Mayo clinic hoping for an answer…any answer! Having no idea what to expect, they headed to Minnesota.  They were told to expect to be there 2-4 days.  As of right now, they have been there for a week and still have appointments scheduled for next week.

Eli was granted a leave from work, however, he hasn’t been with his company long enough to collect compensation, therefore he is not getting paid while he is off.  Ashley is accompanying Eli to Mayo, so she is also off from work.  We still don’t know what they will find, or what any subsequent treatment will be.  We have no idea what the magnitude of their medical bills will be as of yet.  However, with both parents being off work, hotel stays, travel expenses (food, gas, etc.), co-pays, medical bills and keeping a household going, the bills are starting to add up.

If you know Ashley & Eli, you know they have two young boys (age 2 & 7), a dog, 2 cats and a Guinea pig.  I decided to start this Go Fund Me page in hopes of alleviating some of the burden on their finances.  They weren’t yet prepared for a health crisis of this extent at such a young age.  We aren’t the type of family that asks for handouts, especially at this time of year, however, if you are able to help, any amount is deeply appreciated.  Eli and his family have a strong Christian faith, so more important than any monetary gift is the gift of prayer.  Please pray for Eli and his beautiful family at this difficult time.  Thank you so much!
