We are a family of 3 ladies, a mother and her 2 daughters (23 & 27).
This is our 9 year old baby girl, Abby. She has had a long history of health problems but recently it has gotten worse. One day, a few week ago, we noticed that Abby has a mass on her rear as well as under her belly. Within a matter of days, the mass grew bigger but the one on her rear would come and go.
We were finally able to get some money together to take her to the vet to get her checked out. As soon as the vet saw her, he knew that she has 3 hernias. The 2 under her belly are her intestines and the one on her rear is her bladder popping out. He estimated that the surgery would be between $800-$900 to get the hernias fixed.
Abby also has an enlarged heart so the surgery would be risky but we know in our hearts that she is NOT ready to give up on life and will pull through the surgery. Since her heart is enlarged, she coughs a lot and that only makes her hernia worse. She is on heart medication and that does help her but the vet said that the cough will be her norm.
We want to get another opinion but the money situation is tight. We are noticing more and more that she is having a difficult time to pee sometimes and we really want our baby girl to get better. Any little bit that you are to give will be greatly appreciated. My mom is a dental assistant and the head of the household and pays all of the bills, I (the 27yo) have a part time job and am currently pregnant and may have to pull out of work due to complications with the pregnancy, and my sister (23yo) had to stop working a few months ago to get her mental health together.
We desperately want to help her but do not have the means to do so right now. Thank you so much for anything you can do, we will be eternally grateful to anything!!
