Helping the family of Harold Carpenter

On April 2nd, 2014 my wonderful husband of11 years. Harold W. Carpenter,II (Junior as we all knew him) was on his way home from work  after working 6 days sometimes 7,10 hour days, to spend the day and night with his family before he heading back to finish his week.  We were told that he fell asleep and he went off the road, rolled his car and was found face down by the local farmer and his wife who stayed by his side and cleared the dirt from his face so he could breathe why they waited for the ambulance to come.  He was taken to the nearest hospital and then flown to the Trauma Center in Peoria Illinois, ironically where he was coming from as that is where he worked. Junior suffered traumatic brain injury, broken pelvis in two places, broken ribs, deflated lung, and numerous cuts and abrasions.

Junior came into this world fighting as he was a premature baby on December 10, 1980 in the same hospital, Saint Francis in Peoria IL as he went out fighting 9 days later, after this horrible nightmare, April 10, 2014.  God gave him to us for 33 wonderful years, and we are so blessed to have had him by our side.   He was a wonderful, kind and giving man, and was everyone's friend, and will be missed by all.

Junior was the sole provider for his family of 4 with a baby on the way due in August.  He was a contract welder with ATI; he loved his work, which allowed me to be a stay at home mom and wife. 

Junior has been by my side since we were in 8th grade and I will miss him terribly, and I will continue to raise our 4 children as we had planned, and with help and support of our wonderful family and friends, we will keep his memory close in our hearts.
