Elephant + Wildlife Center in Thailand

Hi, Everybody! Thanks for checking out my page. I am volunteering at an elephant and wildlife sanctuary in Thailand for about a month this coming July. The company I am going through is PoDVolunteer, which you can learn more about here: PoDVolunteer Home Page. The elephant sanctuary is home to rescued, domesticated elephants who were used for tourist purposes in Bangkok. This center gives them a home with all the love, care, and food they could want. The wildlife sanctuary is aims to save wildlife and their habitat from destruction, rescuing animals from places where they are mal-treated or neglected. My job will to help feed, clean, build new enclosures, perform maintenance, and give as much love and care to these beautiful creatures as I possibly can in these 3 weeks.

The following is a summary of my expenses:

Cost of program for 3 weeks (includes main meals, a place to stay, and financial support for the center): $1,463

Cost of airfare: $1,600

Miscellaneous expenses while on the trip: $437

Total: $3,500

Any help you could give would be truly appreciated. All extra money that I raise will be directly donated to the center.  I will also be setting up a blog with updates and pictures so that those who wish to follow my experiences with the animals over time may do so. Thanks again, everyone!
