Travis and Jade are adopting!

Thank you all for taking time to read this.  We want to explain why we have chosen adoption.  After trying to conceive naturally for almost two years with no results, Jade's OBGYN suggested that we see a fertility specialist.  After lots of testing and an outpatient surgery for Travis we learned that our only chances of getting pregnant would be to undergo IVF.  Our doctors were confident that a round of IVF would be successful.   We quickly decided to undergo IVF treatment; we were so excited at the thought that we could be pregnant in a matter of months.  The day of my egg retrieval was a nervous yet exciting day because we were one step closer to getting pregnant.  The day following my egg retrieval was a day we'll never forget.  We were impatiently waiting to log on to our patient portal to see how many embryo's had developed.  We were a little concerned when the portal said that we had zero embryo's.  My first thought is there must be a mistake, or maybe the doctor hadn't updated the portal yet.  Later that evening we received a call from our doctor confirming the news that none of my eggs had fertilized, and we had no embryos for transfer.  We were heart broken and speechless to say the least.  A week and half later we went back to see our doctor to discuss our failed IVF cycle, and see if we could  get answers as to why my eggs didn't fertilize. The doctor said that there was something abnormal with my eggs that they had never seen before, and that there was a possibility that there could have also been a sperm quality issue. The doctor couldn't say for sure what exactly caused the cycle to be unsuccessful, and recommended that we try another round of IVF although there is the possibility that we would end up with the same results.  Travis and I both knew that trying IVF again was something that we couldn't emotionally endure again.  

Our dream of being parents did not come the way we planned, but we know in our hearts that this is what God had planned for us all along.  We have chosen to adopt through a local private adoption agency and we're currently in the process of completing our application and preparing for our home study.  Unfortunately, adoption is expensive that's why we've created this page.  Our costs will be $28,500.00.  The money will be applied to Agency Fees, Legal Fees, and Birth Mother Expenses.   The financial burden of this choice is great but we believe it will be completely worth it!  If you are able and feel led to, please help us lighten this burden by donating to our adoption fund.  Please consider sharing our pages with your friends, family, co-workers and anyone else.  It never hurts to get the word out there!
