My name is Kennedy and I am a participant in the Jabberwock Cotillion sponsored by the Fort Washington Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated in conjunction with the Coalition for Stronger Communities, Inc. (CSC, Inc.). The Jabberwock Cotillion is a scholarship initiative to assist
young ladies with the opportunity to raise funds to aid with post high school education expenses. As cotillion participants, we are engaged in activities to prepare us for the next level beyond high school, empowered to make a difference in our communities and challenged to discover our potential to fulfill our destiny.
I am the daughter of Kimberly and Nicholas Rains and a Senior at Oxon Hill High School. I am very active in educational and extracurricular activities. I have participated in several school activities including Cheerleading, Basketball, Soccer, Softball and Volleyball. In addition to sports, I am also a member of the National English Honor Society, National Society of High School Scholars, Peer Leadership group and treasurer of the National Honor Society. I also served on the mock trial team for two years. I volunteer as a student intern in the pediatrics department at a local military medical center twice a week.
After High school, I plan to attend an accredited Four Year College or University in the Fall of 2018 to pursue a degree in Biology with a pre-medicine focus. I then
plan to attend medical school to become a pediatrician.
