I hope this message finds you in good health! I am excited to inform you that God has called me to Gambia for the summer. I will be traveling to Gambia with other undergraduate and graduate students and will study at the University of The Gambia. I will have an opportunity to meet with scholars and students from The Gambia and other countries to discuss perspectives in international relations, economics, policy, business and governance. I am planning to take this trip with students who attend school with me at the University of Illinois at Springfield (UIS).
So, I am sharing this with you because I cannot do this alone! If you could first support me in prayer, that would be an incredible blessing. Matthew 28:20 says - Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always unto the end of the world. Amen. These words are very powerful for me with regards to this trip. I want to observe the world and have experiences of a lifetime.
Also, I am asking for your financial support. I am praying that God will lay on your heart what amount you might be able to give, and that you would follow His leading. The trip will cost about 4500 dollars "“ this includes our travel expenses, accommodations, vaccinations, travel insurance, passport and visa. I will be leaving for Gambia on May 18th and plan to return on June 23rd of 2014. I have yet to raise my ticket money. I still have immunizations I need to get before leaving the country, as well as, my project money and gas money (for travel in The Gambia). I have faith that God is going to take care of these expenses.
If you provide me with your mailing address I will send you a prayer card; if you would put this somewhere you will see it often and remember to pray for my team and I that would be greatly appreciated. I am offering you the opportunity to be a part of that blessing.
