Lory Lacy Goes to Graz!!

I have been accepted into the American Institute of Musical Studies Program in Graz, Austria for opera this summer!! The program is designed to develop promising opera singers by intensive study of languages, stage craft, and opera repertoire and techniques from world-renowned performers and coaches. I started singing opera just under two years ago after waking up from dreams where I was onstage in opera productions. I kept thinking, "I have a master's degree in flute and I'm a hard rock singer...what am I doing in an opera??" Soon after those dreams, I found an amazing opera teacher and she helped me discover my dramatic coloratura voice. Many programs have a cut-off age of 35.  The AIMS program had no such restriction, so I took the audition. I was elated when I got the news that I was accepted to study abroad. This is a chance to explore a magical art form in the countries of its origins. I am so grateful for this opportunity!!!
