Help me get upstairs.

Donation protected
i have Secondary Progressive MS. I was diagnosed eleven years ago when I was 23. I was not going to let is get in the way of my dream of being a mom, so five and a half years ago I had a little boy. My son is my life and I have always tried my best to do and be whatever he needs. My husband and I owned a wonderful townhouse and we were doing okay. Three years ago I was no longer able to do the stairs at our house so we put our townhouse up for rent and we rented another house that is totally level.  Again, as the disease goes, it just got worse.  I can no longer lift my right leg at all and I am forced to use walker or a wheelchair. A couple of months ago the owner of the house we are in decided to sell. The new owners want to occupy the house themselves so we have been evicted. We spent the first month looking for rentals but everything that came available either had stairs, didn't want cats or kids or was a lot more than we can afford. In the mean time our tenants had left our townhouse and we eventually (and reluctantly) made the decision to move back home and get a stair lift. It was going to cost a lot ($8000)and we weren't sure how we would afford, but it was our only option.  When we Had the fellow from the medical supply store come and measure our stairs he said that it was too unsafe to put a lift in as the stairs were to narrow to get around the corner. He said that our best option now would be to get a platform lift. We were quoted between $13000 and $15000 and they will not even order it until you put half down. My husband works full time and I work part time and we can hardly afford to live. I need to get upstairs because the bedrooms are upstairs and more importantly, the only shower.  We are moving in at the end of the month and we don't know what to do or where to turn.  Please help me. I need to be able to get upstairs in my home. I need to be able to get my son off to school in the mornings and my self to work. I would love the relief of independence that the lift would give me.
