Lorenzo's Kidney Transplant

Lorenzo is a vibrant, loving two year old who was born with Chronic Kidney Disease. Only given a 20% chance of survival, this little miracle made it into this world kicking and fighting ever since. Beating the odds for the need of dialysis, Lorenzo is maintaining his current health status through a strict diet and medication regimen, and of course, numerous prayers from many caring people all over. However, his parents knew early on that he would be in need of a kidney transplant for his long term survival.
In the past years, Lorenzo and his supporters have helped to raise money for the National Kidney Foundation, with the hope that they will be able to make an impactful difference in someone else's life. Today, Lorenzo is finally ready for this next stage in his life-long journey. He has become a candidate for a kidney transplant. The most exciting and blessed part of this is that he should not have to go on "the list!" There are so many wonderful people who have volunteered to be tested to find out if they are a match for this awesome child. His parents and immediate family members are the first in line to be tested. Even his older siblings (Ennio, 12, & Mychaela, 7) have expressed interest in donating one of their kidneys to their little brother. Even though they are legally too young, their parents could not expect them to make such an important decision at their age. But, it's the love and willingness of everyone involved that motivates and makes this family's journey feel like they are not alone.
A kidney transplant can be financially overwhelming. From preliminary testing, to the surgery itself, and post-operative recovery costs including anti-rejection medication, etc., this process although very fulfilling, can add a lot of financial strain to any family. Because of this, Lorenzo's family has started this Go Fund Me campaign to help assist them with some of this financial burden. As always, they acknowledge the beauty and blessing received when it's time to pay it forward. Have you been blessed recently? Lorenzo has had an interesting, and somewhat challenging first years of life compared to the typical child, to say the very least. But through it all, he has remained a constant fighter and his parents and close family and friends have been there right by his side. The family appreciates all of the love, support, and continuous prayers as Lorenzo's story continues....THIS ISN'T THE END!!!!
