I'm fundraising tuition for my best friend Melissa Brule to finish her Join Up (horse training) certification at Monty Roberts International Learning Center in Solvang, California. Here's a link to what Join-Up is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glZWiw5liZA&feature=player_embedded
I met Melissa in 1994 at riding camp in Ottawa when we were 12 yrs old. We became instant friends and over the past 20 years she has remained a constant support in my life. She's stood by me as I achieved my dreams and now it's time for me to pay her back and help her achieve her dreams.
Melissa has already completed the introductory Join-Up course in the fall of 2009, but needs help coming up the the remaining $6000.00 needed to go back and finish the program. Since coming back from the introductory course she has been training horses free of charge, working with numerous equine rescues around Kingston and Ottawa all while trying to support herself with other jobs just to get by. But this is her time! Melissa has proven time and time again her passion and dedication to the horses of the Ottawa Valley and now she has a chance to further contribute to their well being by becoming certified to train through the Monty Roberts Join-Up method and eventually, to be able to train other people in Join-Up. This is HUGE because when Melissa becomes certified, she will be the second person in Canada with this designation. Not only will she be able to make a living doing what she loves, she will also be able to contribute to the Ottawa equine community - both horses and riders.

1. You will be helping the horses in the Ottawa Valley: Melissa will be certified to humanely train horses through Monty Roberts non-violent training techniques.
2. You will be helping the community: Melissa will be able to train other people to use Join-Up.

Flights (to Santa Barbara or LA) - $500.00 - BOOKED!
Introductory Exam - $1000.00 - BOOKED!
Advanced Course - $3000.00
Accommodations (3 weeks) - $1500.00
