Help me get to Aspen this summer!

I was recently accepted to Aspen Music Festival and School, an incredible 8-week program for musicians located near the beautiful city of Aspen, Colorado. This is a fantastic opportunity for my musical growth and career, and I am incredibly excited to be attending. The Festival brings together many of the world's best professional classical musicians to perform in over 300 concerts and events. Around six hundred students are accepted through an intensely competitive audition process to study with artist-teachers, perform in master classes, and collaborate with visiting musicians and ensembles. I feel incredibly lucky to have been chosen for this experience, and it will be profoundly inspiring to be surrounded by such a wealth of talent and experience. I was accepted into Anton Nel's studio, and I look forward to working with him, having observed his incredible teaching last year when he visited my University.

Although I have been fortunate enough to have scholarships for my studies at the University of Oregon and for other summer programs in the past, I was not able to receive a scholarship for my studies at Aspen. I am financing part of this program through my part time jobs (currently amounting to four: Church pianist, Guitar Center studio teacher, English tutor, and private piano instructor) but I need to secure additional support in order to make ends meet this summer. I don't simply want to ask people to give me something without receiving something valuable in return, and so I've put together a few reward levels that I hope will provide you with an enjoyable musical experience. I also plan to keep a blog of my Aspen experience with pictures and video to keep my friends, family, and supporters updated. I've heard from several Aspen alumni that their summer there was one of the most enjoyable and rewarding of their entire life, and I am so thrilled that I've been given the chance to have my own adventure there!
