My father lost his battle with lung cancer on April 10th, 2014. He taught me what it meant to have pure intentions and to always put family first. I'm so sorry at all the laughter that has been robbed of this world with his passing, but I'm glad his suffering was brief and that, in his final days, we were able to enjoy his company as we had for so long.
My father did everything he could to set us up financially, but times were hard and the current outlook is bleak. My mother and I are asking for this help for a variety of reasons, from cremation services, electricity bills, and rent to getting my mother's citizenship in order so she can travel freely between Mexico and the U.S. and find a job where she gives back. They will be donations for now, but we hope and plan to give it all back the second we can.
We just need a fighting chance to stay afloat and keep pursuing the life my father so diligently sought.
If you know me, you know that I hate to ask and would only do so out of necessity. I ask now because my mother is the only family I have left here. If we don't get these things in order, she simply won't be able to sustain life in this country.
Anything will help. We will be forever grateful and know that we will do everything we can to honor your commitment and compassion.
And, just because I think this captures them perfectly, here are my parents being the fun-loving pair that they are as they send my girlfriend off to school.
