Soon to be homeless

Hi, my name is Ken, I have been living with my son for the last couple of years; I am 63 and on disability; my son didn't work or really want to work for the last two years, and we have been living on my $1500 a month disability checks. Finally, he got an eviction notice, and then he deserted me and left me to fend for myself. I really just need a place to live other than in my car. I have COPD and severe arthritis in my knees. I need a place to live I can afford on my disability money, I am trying for public housing, but there is a long waiting list. I have about a week before I have to move out of this house, I am going to call the local homeless shelter to see if they have room, but I need a place of my own. I'm not looking for charity, I just need a place to live; anything you can give will help; maybe with it, I could get a motel room for a while. Thanks for reading this, and God Bless.
