We are a group of seniors attending CSUN's film school who are working on our most important project of the year and are in need of as much resources as possible to be able to make our project come to life. In order to produce and show our capabilities of what we've learned over the course of our academic careers we need money for film equipment, locations, and transportation. About Our Short Film:
Marvelous! by Mayra is a witty passion piece that takes a light hearted approach to the struggles young people face on a daily basis in urban Los Angeles. It tells the story of a young, 20 something millennial who is the product of immigrant parents and an ever-changing fashion industry. Mayra, our protagonist, is sick of her clothing factory cutting corners and short changing hard working people in order make a quick buck. In an effort to change her corrupt world and combat her area's sudden gentrification that aims to kick her out on the street, Mayra, opens her own competitive fashion line... inside of the factory she works in.
Our story is about a young adult with an eye for creativity and a big dream, like us, who is trying to make it out in the big world and make something of herself while the people above her belittle and oppress her for being naive and inexperienced, something we can all relate to.
