Necessary Knee Surgery

Donation protected
sDearest friends and family,

As some of you may well know, things for me have been a comedy of errors recently. A year ago I was laid off and lost my house, car, and my cell phone. I had to sell a lot of things that were near and dear to me to finance a move to somewhere that my girlfriend and I had friends and family who could help us in our time of great need.

Upon reaching Indiana, I immediately set out in search for work. Regrettably, the fall and winter are slow seasons for the type of work that I am proficient in. I was unable to locate anything meaningful. Durring this time, while living with the previously mentioned house of the parents of my girlfriend, I was injured while shoveling the prolific amounts of snow that fell in Indiana this year.

A complete tear in my ACL and a large tear in the Medial Horn of my Meniscus tendons were the result of something so simple as a slip and fall on ice. This could not, I repeat, COULD NOT have come at a worse time. My lovely girlfriend is using her GI Bill from her tenure in the navy to return to school and while it help us pay the bills, it does not leave us with the requisite funds for an important and life changing knee surgery.

For those of you who know me, you know that I have a terrible time asking for help. I love to help but am awful at extending a hand upward and asking for charity. This experience has already robbed me of a large portion of my sense of self and dignity. Alas, 10,000.00 dollars is the cumulative total for the surgery, hospital room, six months worth of intensive physical rehab, and peripheral medical services that I will need and my girlfriend and I cannot do it alone.

Please, friends and family, if there is any way that you can help me out in this messed up situation, it would mean the world to me. We are already bereft of a place of our own and have but one mode of transportation and a super limited income. Who, afterall, would hire someone that shortly after being hired and earning enough money or gaining access to health insurance, is going to have to leave for six months? Especially when that someone cannot do anything other than sit in a chair without making their ailment worse?

Thanks for any and all help in advance and know that I would do my best to help, were the roles reversed.
