My cousins Josh and Justin are currently teaching English in China. Justin suffers with Bipolar Disorder and on September 02, 2017 had a major setback resulting in being admitted involuntarily to a psychiatric hospital in China. Justin has been stabilized with medication but is not receiving any treatment towards his mental health. At this point we do not know how long Justin will remain in the psychiatric hospital in China. Currently he is unable to leave until the Doctor deems him safe to travel. We as a family feel that the safest option for Justin’s return home is to have our Aunt Heather and Justin’s cousin Johnny escort him on the flight home.
I am creating this Go Fund Me Account because of the crucial and time sensitive nature of this situation. My Aunt Heather needs to fly over to China as soon as possible to be with both of her Sons. Her Son Josh and his wife Kelly are dealing with this situation on their own in a foreign country with no family support. Together my Aunt Heather and Josh will be able to give Justin the emotional support he needs so he can get well enough to travel home back to Canada. Once back home Justin will be able to receive the appropriate and essential medical attention he urgently requires.
The stress of the situation on our family has been tremendous. We have watched our Aunt Heather lose sleep for days trying to figure out how she can safely get her Son back home. She has contacted the Canadian Consulate and they provided no feasible recommendations. At this point our options are limited. Justin does not have any medical insurance. Any funds you can donate to cover accruing daily hospital bills, large travel expenses and lost wages would be greatly appreciated by our family to help bring Justin home.
My Aunt Heather is a dedicated Registered Nurse and single parent who has devoted her life to raising her two Son’s Justin and Josh. She is a kind, compassionate and loving person who is always there for her family, friends and patients.
Mental illness is such a pressing issue and is often overlooked and dismissed in our health care system.
