Help displaced residents at 881 after fire!
Donation protected
On July 22nd, a massive fire displaced nine of my Black and POC neighbors on Saint Johns street in a low-income housing building in Crown Heights, leaving them with nothing after their possessions and homes burned. Following an order from the NYFD to vacate the building, I'm hoping to raise funds for the approximate amount needed to relocate them and purchase things for their basic needs.
There's never a good time to lose your home but it's particularly unsafe as many of us try to keep distance during COVID-19. Please share and help me keep my neighbors safe.
If you don't have funds to contribute but live in Brooklyn, I'm available for pick up and drop off of additional items they need urgently:
-underwear, size 5-6 (children's)
-girls shoes, size 12 (children's)
-pajamas or clothing, size small or girl's six (children's)
-men's underwear, size medium
-men's shirts, size medium
-adult socks
-women's underwear, size large
-bras 38B
-shirts or pants, size large or 10 (women's)
-any toiletries
these items were specifically asked for but all clean clothing and gift cards will also be helpful! I can pick up!
Thank you so much for your support <3
