Nobody puts Donna in a corner!

First of all, thank you for taking the time to stop by this page! We have been so grateful for the out-pouring of thoughts, prayers, gestures, words of encouragement and support during this overwhelmingly difficult time. We have set this page up in hopes of raising funds to go towards our mom's recovery and long term care needs. We appriectiate all of the love and support we have recieved so far and every tiny bit that you can give goes a long way for us. From the bottom of all of our hearts, thank you for anything you can do or have done to help us on this rough journey. We continue to thank God for his mercy and guidance as well as all of the many blessings of love He has sent to us through all who continue to support our family. We truly have found strength in His arms and in your gestures of love. Donna somehow contracted a staph infection that presented itself in the manner of unbearable neck and arm pain. We don't know how this occurred, but it all happened very fast. After a few visits to the ER she was sent home with no clear diagnosis or indication of what was happening or what was to come. Upon returning home from a doctors appointment Monday March 31st, she collapsed in the driveway while getting out of the car falling to her knees unable to stand or operate part of her body. After being brought to yet another ER, the doctors found an abscess causing damage to her spinal chord resulting in paralysis from the chest down. Donna was then rushed to Duke Medical where she has undergone 2 emergency surgeries and is currently in critical condition in their Intensive Care Unit. Every day brings a new challenge, but every waking minute is a blessing. We do not know if the paralysis is permanent, however we do know that the road to recovery will be long and slow. Ã"š
'Do not be anxious for tomorrow; tomorrow will care for itself.'-Matthew 6:34 There are many difficult challenges ahead but we, as a family are prepared to face each one together, hand in hand. We couldn't do it without your love and support. We are faced with the possibility of long-term hospital care and major constructional changes to the layout of the house to accomodate her needs WHEN (we are staying positive) she is finally able to come home. We ask that any monetary donations be made here and if there are any gestures of kindness you would like to share (ie volunteering time or donation of services to help with the house reconstruction/upkeep) please feel free to comment below with an email address so that we may contact you directly.Ã"š
'The best portion of a good manââ"š¬Ã¢"ž¢s life. His little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and of love.'-William Wordsworth (1770-1850) We are eternally grateful for any and all acts of kindness no matter how big or small, every little bit helps in a big way. Donna is staying strong and fighting with the love and support of her family and people like you who continue to support her.Ã"š
  THANK YOU!
