Hi friends, Anthony here! I am blessed and honored to share with you some incredible news! I have officially been offered a position with the reigning Drum Corps International World Champions, the Carolina Crown World Class Drum & Bugle Corps Colorguard! For those of you who aren't familiar, drum corps is a professional marching band art, if you will. Composed of percussionists, a drumline, hornline, and colorguard, the entire ensemble tours around the country performing a 15 minute production and competing for an international title in the Tour of Champions and Drum Corps International organizations. I have been a part of the colorguard activity for 3 years now, and I intend to participate actively for a very long time to come. I performed with the Tarpon Springs Marching Band as a colorguard member in 2011 and served as a captain in the 2012 fall season, the Tarpon Springs World Guard in 2012 and captain of the 2013 team, and most recently with USF World Winterguard in the 2014 season.
Unfortunately, the wonderful pageantry that is colorguard isn't always financially simple to participate in. Drum Corps, specifically, is a rather expensive activity, as it is active all day everyday from late May to early August. The fees in total cover pre-tour camp expenses, housing, Spring Training expenses, uniforms, tour transportation and food, equipment, and general tuition. Even while working 3 part-time jobs, I am unable to do this alone. This experience is one-in-a-million, as the cutoff age to participate is 21, and any help, support, or donation would be appreciated beyond words! Please help me make this pivotal experience in my performing career possible!
