Decompression Surgery for Amelia

As most of you know Amelia was born with Achondroplasia (dwarfism)...and we have been blessed and lucky up to this point, that she has not experienced many of the health issues that can be associated with her diagnosis. Unfortunately we learned with her last MRI, that she will require decompression surgery to relieve pressure on her spinal cord and also to remove a growth at the base of her skull. While we are lucky that we do have health insurance, we were informed that the plan will only cover a small portion of the surgery. This fundraising site was recommended to us and we struggled with whether or not we should participate in something like this - but as medical bills keep coming in, we realize that we will be facing financial hardship with this upcoming surgery...and so we are swallowing our pride. The surgery is imperative and unavoidable and is going to happen on Friday, May 2nd - so all we can do is ask if anyone wants to help.
