Please help a gruff old geezer not ready to give up on this world & Mrs. 'Old Geezer' not ready to give up on him!
Diagnosed w/COPD in the fall of 2005 he is now stage 4 & looking @ being tied to oxygen 24/7. Stem Cell Therapy is done closest to us in Dallas, TX @ the Lung Institute. More info on this procedure @ https://lunginstitute.com .
This fairly new to the U.S. treatment is very promising showing no drawbacks, but NO insurance will cover it yet. The cost is $12,000.00 for a double shot which proofs most effective & $6,000.00 for a booster when needed after 1 yr. It might as well be a million when you are surviving on Social Security!
He spent 27 yrs. of our 49 yr. marriage as a long haul trucker. Hung it up after plowing the Mississippi median w/the side of his big-rig after passing out @ the wheel due to coughing Groung Hog Day 2012--thank you COPD--NOT! The company graciously allowed him to retire.
He loves staying busy w/hobbies & friends & is serving the Lord as Maintanence Crew @ our small country church. Recently he had the privilege of checking out a 1st car for the oldest grandson. It passed muster! Family, church & friends depend on him still. Says he doesn't know how he had time to work b-4 retirement!
We had already re-mortgaged our small bungalow after paying it off because of his medical needs. Now it is reverse-mortgaged so we can stay @ home. Our 2 vehicles are 'bout 20 yrs. old & he is mechanic for them & the church van. He is sooo smart & capale!
Jack of all trades, master of many. "Is there anything Bob can't fix?" Where have I heard this before? The answer is, yes--his lungs. We all still love & need him. Please help with whatever you can & may God richly bless you.
