Financial Hardship

This is very difficult to write because of the shame I feel for having to reach out and publicly ask for help. For me, it's a sign of weakness, but vulnerabilty takes courage and strength so here I am trying to gain them both. I may publicly share what goes on in my life, but when it comes to baring this financial hardship, it's not easy to admit. I've always kept this subject very private and wish I could continue to do so now. Many of you know that when I was on my feet financially, I generously shared and that, in itself, is some of the reason why I'm in the situation I am today.

Like so many of you, the COVID pandemic has affected me in terms of some of my part time employment.  At the same time, I've been dealing with physical health issues that are keeping me out of work from the jobs that weren't affected. The most recent health issue was a blood clot that blocked circulation to my right foot causing gangrene to set in my small toe. The result was a 4 day stay in the hospital, an angiogram to open the artery and, subsequently, partial amputation to the toe. Just prior to this, I had been scheduled for knee replacement surgery, which had to be postponed. Now that I'm off blood thinners and will have the stitches removed from the amputation next week, I will be able to reschedule the knee surgery to take place within the next couple of weeks, get back to my normal physical mobility and return to work as quickly as possible.

The support I'm requesting will help cover my auto insurance payments and the electric bill, which I have fallen behind on. For the time being, my roommate has taken care of the rent and other household necessitaties, but with reluctancy and that takes a toll on my mental health.

In the meantime, I have also been trying to collect unemployment, but they have requested a Hearing regarding my medical leave from the home companion position I had and another Appeal due to the separation of my employment with the Census Bureau. It just doesn't seem to end. At the beginning of the year, I had 4 jobs and now I'm being brought here on Go Fund Me shamefully asking for assistance.

This was a difficult decision to bare all but I have no where else to turn. Thank you in advance for your emotional and financial support.
