Save the Skatepark

Donation protected
Last summer the skateboard community came together to save the StarFire Skatepark and move it to an adjacent parking lot. With a vote on August 17, 2020 the Town of Camden reclaimed the elements from the old park and on December 12 approved 4 Knowlton Street as a temporary location.

With the dedicated time of skaters, parents, and local organizations, the half pipe ( see below ) was reassembled, a fresh layer of plywood was put down, the lot was cleaned and the fence was painted. The cost of the new plywood was $1,050.

This community effort was successful and has had a huge impact on so many young lives during the pandemic. With the Teen Center closed the skatepark provides an outlet for physical activity and a place for students to be outside and have fun. It is open to all levels of skaters. There is virtually no upper or lower age limit to participate.

This GoFundMe is seeking to raise enough money to cover the costs of the plywood purchased last year. However, the existing skatepark will need ongoing repair.  Any additional money raised will be given to the Town of Camden and a Skatepark Group to be used for improvements. Thank you.

We have increased the goal to $5k (4/27/21) based on community feedback to build back better.
