Sandy Mision, 46, died in her sleep on the night of March 31 inside her bedroom of the home she lived in for the last 24 years.
A mother of three and the caregiver for her husband, Michael, her death was confirmed April 2.
Sandy put her life on hold to care for her husband, who has had ALS for the last four years. She did not see this path as a setback, and she poured her heart into seeing that her husband could have the best medical care the family could afford. She inspired her kids to treat each day as a gift and love those they were fortunate enough to have in their lives.
Because finances were allocated toward care for Dad as a top priority, there are very limited funds available for Mom's service, which will be held Friday, April 11.
The location will be at the Michels & Lundquist Funeral Home, 5228 Trouble Creek Road, New Port Richey, Fla. 34652. A time is still being finalized with the home, though we anticipate the service will be held late afternoon.
Several people have reached out to my sister and me asking how they can help with funds and preparations. This would be a good start.
We loved our mom dearly, and we know others did, too. We know she also loved the friends who provided her with a fantastic amount of support throughout the years.
Should there be excess funds, those will be used to continue paying Dad's medical care, life insurance, and other financial obligations my brother, sister and I will need to complete.
